School Social Worker

Location: Frederick, MD

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with students, parents, and school staff to address social, emotional, and academic challenges. This role is vital in fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students.
• Develop and implement intervention strategies to improve student well-being and academic performance.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create support plans.
• Conduct assessments to identify students' social and emotional needs.
• Offer crisis intervention and support as needed.
• Facilitate communication between the school and external community resources.
• Advocate for students' rights and needs within the school setting.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field.
• Valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker.
• Previous experience working with children and adolescents in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Professional references required.
