Make a Difference in Students' Lives: Full-Time School Mental Health Therapist/LMFT Needed in Paso Robles, CA!

Location: Paso Robles, CA (multiple school sites within 5 minutes of each other)
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: June 6, 2024 (with potential for Extended School Year - ESY)
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Caseload: Elementary - High School (28-30 students)

If so, we want to hear from you! The [School District Name] in Paso Robles is seeking a dedicated and qualified Mental Health Therapist/Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team. You will play a vital role in providing Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) and social skills support to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) across multiple elementary and high school campuses.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to address a variety of social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement comprehensive support plans.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies.
  • Provide psychoeducational workshops and trainings for staff and students.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Stay current with best practices in school mental health and social-emotional learning (SEL).

What We're Looking For:

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • California LMFT license (required).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Special Education and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Experience providing ERMHS and social skills support.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Culturally competent and committed to equity and inclusion.
