Multiple Openings - Sign Language Interpreters (SLI) - 23/24 School Year

Blazerworks is seeking a skilled and dedicated Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to join our team for the upcoming school year in Savannah, GA. As an SLI, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and the educational environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Facilitate communication between students and educational staff in classroom settings, meetings, and other school activities
• Interpret lectures, discussions, and instructions in real-time using American Sign Language (ASL)
• Adapt interpretation styles and strategies to meet the individual needs and preferences of students
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure effective communication and understanding
• Assist with the development and implementation of individualized educational plans for students
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working with students and staff
• Stay updated on the latest sign language techniques and educational practices

Requirements:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
• Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational setting is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to various educational settings and work with diverse student populations
• Commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards and ethics
