Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the supervising Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans to help patients recover from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve patients’ strength, coordination, and range of motion.
- Provide hands-on assistance with mobility training, adaptive equipment usage, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and strategies for maintaining progress.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient sessions, progress notes, and billing information in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current certification as a COTA and licensure in the state of practice.
