New School Year - Occupational Therapist (OT) Job Opening

Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a full-time contract role in a school-based setting in Sandy, OR for the upcoming school year. This is a great opportunity for professionals who meet local and state regulatory requirements and have a passion for supporting students with special needs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to evaluate students' occupational therapy needs, including sensory, motor, and functional skills.
• Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and other essential skills needed for academic and daily living success.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of students.
• Monitor student progress and modify therapy plans as necessary to ensure therapy goals are being met.
• Assist students in developing their daily living skills and enhancing their independence both in the classroom and at home.
• Train school staff and parents on effective strategies to support students' therapy goals.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state regulations.
• Participate in IEP meetings and work with other professionals to review and update students’ progress and ensure continued support.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Oregon.
• Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of IEP development and the special education process.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a school environment.
