Key Responsibilities
As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will:
- Support and implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist (OT).
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to address motor, sensory, and functional challenges.
- Document student progress and report updates to the OT for review.
- Prepare and maintain equipment and therapy materials.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to support students’ needs in the classroom.
- Maintain compliance with school district and state policies regarding occupational therapy services.
Qualifications
Educational and Certification Requirements:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Active North Carolina COTA license in good standing.
- Compliance with state and school district background check requirements.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with children in educational or pediatric settings preferred.
- Knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and practices.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively under the supervision of a licensed OT.
