Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced Paraprofessional for a full-time contract position in Somersworth, NH. The successful candidate will work within a school-based environment, providing essential support to educators and students. Candidates must meet all local and state regulations for employment in this role. Experience with special education students and families is highly preferred.


  1. Provide direct support to students in various educational settings under the guidance of certified teachers.
  2. Assist students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, math, and other subject areas.
  3. Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with special needs.
  4. Collaborate with classroom teachers and other professionals to create and implement effective instructional strategies.
  5. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth and development.
  6. Assist with the management of classroom behavior and provide positive behavior reinforcement.
  7. Support students with personal care tasks, including toileting, feeding, and mobility, as needed.
  8. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
  9. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behavior.
  10. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with diverse needs.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate s or bachelor s degree preferred
  • Experience working with students in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of and experience with special education students and families preferred
  • Ability to pass background checks and meet all requirements set forth by local and state regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
