About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide 1:1 support for a kindergarten student in a school setting. This role requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and a passion for supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time interpreting for a kindergarten student in the classroom and school-related activities.
• Facilitate clear and effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers.
• Support the student's academic and social development by ensuring access to all instructional materials.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to enhance inclusive learning opportunities.

Requirements:

• Sign Language Interpreter Permit (must have RID membership).
• EIPA Score: 4.0 preferred, 3.0-3.9 accepted with RID ethics/written exam and eligibility for a renewable permit in Alabama.
