Blazer Jobs is actively seeking experienced Special Education Teachers for full-time positions with school districts in Niles, MI. We are interviewing candidates who are passionate about supporting students with special needs, particularly those with cognitive impairments, to ensure they receive the best educational experience possible.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
• Providing specialized instruction for students with moderate cognitive impairments and autism spectrum disorders.
• Utilizing knowledge of Special Education laws and regulations to support compliance and student success.
• Implementing behavior management techniques, including de-escalation and physical management when necessary.
• Collaborating with general education teachers, school staff, and families to support student achievement.
• Monitoring student progress and adapting instructional strategies as needed to meet diverse learning needs.

Requirements:

• Michigan Special Education Teaching Certification with a Cognitive Impairment (CI) Endorsement.
• Proven experience working with children with moderate cognitive impairments and autism spectrum disorders.
• Strong understanding of Special Education rules and laws specific to students with cognitive impairments.
• Proficiency in behavioral de-escalation and physical management techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
