Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing for a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join a supportive school district in the Methuen, MA area. This full-time position is ideal for an SLPA passionate about helping students improve their communication skills and achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities

As a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, you will:

  • Assist licensed Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing therapy to students.
  • Implement treatment plans and exercises developed by the supervising SLP.
  • Collect and document data on student progress for review by the SLP.
  • Prepare therapy materials and ensure a safe and supportive environment for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate therapy strategies into the classroom.
  • Maintain compliance with school district and state policies regarding speech-language services.

Qualifications

Educational and Certification Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders, Speech Language Pathology, or a related field.
  • Active Massachusetts SLPA license or certification.
  • Compliance with all state and district requirements, including background checks.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of speech and language development and intervention techniques.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision of an SLP.
