Occupational Therapist (OT) Job Opening

Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a full-time contract role in a school-based setting in Central Falls, RI. Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' occupational therapy needs and establish therapy goals.
• Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and other functional skills necessary for academic success.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) that meet students’ needs.
• Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed to ensure continued growth and achievement of therapy goals.
• Assist students in improving their daily living skills, motor coordination, and emotional regulation.
• Train staff and parents on strategies and techniques to support students' therapy needs and ensure consistent progress.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school district and state requirements.
• Attend meetings, including IEP meetings and conferences, to discuss student progress and collaborate with other professionals.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Rhode Island.
• Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of IEP development and the special education process.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a school setting.
