Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Support:

    • Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and activities.
    • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students to reinforce learning.
    • Assist in the preparation and adaptation of instructional materials for diverse learners.
  • Student Supervision:

    • Ensure a safe and supportive classroom environment.
    • Supervise students during classroom transitions, lunch, recess, and field trips.
    • Implement and monitor behavior management plans as directed by the teacher.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and other relevant data.
    • Communicate effectively with teachers and parents regarding student needs and progress.
    • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation as required.
  • Classroom Management:

    • Set up and maintain an organized and inviting classroom environment.
    • Support the implementation of classroom routines and procedures.
    • Assist with the organization and maintenance of classroom supplies and materials.
  • Special Education Support (if applicable):

    • Provide support to students with special needs in accordance with their IEPs.
    • Collaborate with special education staff to meet the individual needs of students.
    • Assist with personal care tasks and mobility needs as necessary.
  • Professional Development:

    • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
    • Stay updated on best practices in education and student support.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate s degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
    • Experience with special education and behavior management is a plus.
  • Skills:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
    • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Capacity to engage in physical activities as required (e.g., bending, kneeling).
