Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our team in Middletown, RI. In this role, you will provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students, assisting teachers in creating an inclusive and positive learning environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with classroom instruction and student engagement.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with academic or behavioral challenges.
  • Help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans for students requiring accommodations.
  • Support students in developing social-emotional and academic skills.
  • Assist with classroom organization, preparation of learning materials, and administrative tasks.
  • Monitor student progress and behavior, reporting observations to teachers and support staff.
  • Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Associate’s degree, 60 college credits, or ParaPro Assessment certification (preferred).
  • Experience working with children or students in an educational setting (preferred).
  • Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt, problem-solve, and provide support for diverse student needs.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary Rhode Island state clearances.
  • Willingness to participate in training and professional development.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
