Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced paraprofessionals to fill a full-time position within school districts in the Castle Rock, CO area. This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated professionals passionate about supporting students in an educational setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in the classroom with instructional support and management.
- Provide individualized attention to students who need extra help.
- Supervise students in various settings, including the classroom, cafeteria, and playground.
- Assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Support students with physical, emotional, or academic challenges, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Help prepare educational materials and classroom activities as directed by the teacher.
- Assist with behavior management and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
Requirements:
Applicants must meet all state and local requirements to be eligible for this position, including but not limited to:
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Some districts may prefer candidates with an associate’s degree or higher, or completion of a paraprofessional certification program.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly preferred.
- Certification: Candidates must hold a valid paraprofessional certification or be able to meet certification requirements, which may include passing an approved competency test (e.g., the ETS ParaPro Assessment).
- Background Check: All applicants must pass a background check in compliance with local school district policies.
- Additional Requirements: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
