Tutor Needed for Special Education Classroom – Willimantic, CT

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Tutor to join our team and support a kindergarten special education classroom in Willimantic, CT. This role is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a team of professionals and provide essential assistance to students with unique learning needs.

Position Details:

• Location: Willimantic, CT
• Dates: ASAP – June 13, 2025
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM (35 hours per week, with some variability in hours)

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group academic assistance tailored to students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher and support staff to deliver lesson plans and activities that address the students’ unique educational, social, and emotional needs.
• Foster a nurturing and structured classroom environment that promotes engagement and learning.
• Adapt instructional strategies to accommodate a variety of learning styles and needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• DOE Certification required.
• Experience working in a special education or similar classroom setting is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills, patience, and a passion for helping children succeed.
