Paraprofessionals - Self-Contained (2nd Grade)

Full-Time Onsite Paraprofessional Position – Melrose Park, IL

Blazer Jobs is partnering with the school district in Melrose Park, IL, to hire a dedicated and qualified paraprofessional for the current school year. This full-time, onsite position will run through Friday, May 23, 2025.

Position Details:

• Caseload: Self-contained second-grade classroom

• 1:1 student assignment

• Behavioral support and special requirements

Daily Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to the assigned student to promote academic and behavioral success

• Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention strategies

• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support student development

• Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive classroom environment

• Monitor and manage student behavior in alignment with established plans

Education & Licensing Requirements:

• Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Associate degree or higher, OR 60 semester hours of coursework from an accredited institution

• Licensing:

  • PEL (Paraprofessional Endorsement)

• Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience as a paraprofessional in a self-contained classroom

  • Proven behavior management experience
