Job Title: School Psychologist

Location: Lamar, CO

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 32 hours per week, 4-day weeks (Monday-Thursday)

Opportunity for Long-Term Commitment: Our client in Lamar, CO is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced School Psychologist to join their team for the current school year, with the intention of renewing the contract for the subsequent school year. We are specifically looking for candidates who are committed to providing long-term support and making a lasting impact on the educational community.

Job Description & Requirements: As a School Psychologist in Lamar, CO, you will play a vital role in assessing, classifying, and supporting the educational needs of students with learning, social, and emotional difficulties. The position involves consultation, case management, and program management for both regular and special education students.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and relevant agencies in planning educational and therapeutic programs.
  • Conduct psychological assessments and recommend appropriate remediation strategies.
  • Interpret and analyze assessment results to guide instructional programs.
  • Participate in Individual Education Program (IEP) teams and reviews.
  • Provide parent education and support.
  • Assist in establishing guidelines mandated by federal and state programs.
  • Conduct assessments and re-evaluations for Special Education students.
  • Make classroom observations and provide valuable feedback.
  • Contribute to the development of positive mental and behavioral health services within the school.

Qualifications:

  • Master s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology.
  • Colorado credential authorizing the performance of psychological services.
  • Previous experience in a school environment.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines governing special education services.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with students, school personnel, parents, and the community.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Willingness to work 32 hours per week on a 4-day schedule (Monday-Thursday).
