  • Compensation: $27+ per hour
  • Schedule: Full-Time (7.5 hours per day)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Paraprofessional (PARA) to support student learning and development in Bremerton, WA. This role involves working closely with students, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct individuals or small groups to support student learning objectives (e.g., reviewing letters/sounds, introducing new concepts, assisting with self-corrections).
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including progress monitoring and WAAS portfolio documentation.
  • Supervise students in various settings (e.g., classroom, lunchroom, recess, bus duty) to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Support special needs students, including those with aggressive, unsafe, or self-injurious behaviors or medical conditions requiring supervision.
  • Maintain student records (e.g., attendance, grades, assessments) and assist in preparing district and state reports.
  • Conduct student assessments to determine placement and evaluate progress.
  • Assist in planning and preparing curriculum, materials, and resources.
  • Grade, correct, and record student work while communicating progress to students and teachers.
  • Assist students with toileting and hygiene needs, including performing one- or two-person lifts.
  • Provide medical assistance (e.g., suctioning, tube feeding, medication administration, seizure monitoring) and support therapy sessions as directed by certified staff or healthcare professionals.
  • Supervise students during off-site work-based learning programs or athletic activities.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions to maintain and enhance skills.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children or individuals with special needs preferred.
  • Ability to provide physical assistance, including lifting if needed.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to undergo training for medical assistance tasks as required.
