Registered Nurse / School Nurse - Vernon Hills, IL

We are seeking a dedicated School Nurse to join our team in Vernon Hills, IL, for the 2024-2025 school year. This full-time position involves providing essential medical care and support to students in grades 1-5, including those in a self-contained special education program.

Position Details:

• Location: Vernon Hills, IL
• Role: Registered Nurse / School Nurse
• Dates: ASAP- May 30, 2025
• Grade Level: 1st - 5th grade with a self-contained special education program
• Hours:
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:05 AM - 3:35 PM
  • Wednesday: 8:05 AM - 3:50 PM

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily medical care and support to elementary school students.
• Administer medication and perform routine health assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized health plans for students with special needs.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as necessary.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure the well-being of all students.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
• Educate students and staff on health and wellness practices.

Requirements:

• Active RN licensure in the state of Illinois.
• Experience in school-based nursing is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Commitment to fostering a safe and healthy school environment.

Anticipated Need:

• Start of the School Year: August 12, 2024 (Nurse Training)
• First Day of Student Attendance: August 19, 2024
