Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team in Sacramento, CA. In this role, you will work directly with students who have diverse learning needs, helping them achieve academic success, grow emotionally, and build social skills. Key Responsibilities:

  • IEP Development and Implementation:
    Design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that are personalized to the unique needs of each student. Collaborate with parents, school staff, and specialists to ensure effective educational outcomes.

  • Create an Inclusive Classroom Environment:
    Build a welcoming, safe, and engaging classroom where every student feels respected, motivated, and encouraged to participate in their learning.

  • Collaboration and Communication:
    Work closely with general education teachers, counselors, administrators, and families to create a holistic support system for students. Maintain regular communication regarding student progress and any necessary interventions.

  • Support Social-Emotional and Behavioral Growth:
    Use evidence-based strategies to support students in managing behaviors, developing emotional resilience, and interacting positively with peers.

  • Engage in Ongoing Professional Development:
    Continuously improve your skills through training and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education.


Qualifications:

  • Required Qualifications:

    • Special Education Certification in California (or eligibility to obtain certification)
    • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Special Education
    • Knowledge of IEP development, special education laws, and classroom management techniques
  • Experience:

    • Previous experience working with students with special needs is preferred, but we also welcome new graduates who are passionate about special education and student success.
  • Skills and Attributes:

    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
    • A commitment to student-centered teaching and inclusive education practices
