Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Santa Fe, NM

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants for full-time positions within school districts located in the Santa Fe, NM area. We are seeking dedicated professionals who meet all local and state requirements to join our team and provide essential support to students in achieving their educational goals.

Requirements:

  • Valid New Mexico Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license.
  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in New Mexico.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Occupational Therapists in conducting assessments and evaluations to determine students functional abilities and needs.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction of the Occupational Therapist to address students goals and objectives related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in group settings to improve functional performance and participation in school activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students occupational therapy needs within the classroom and school environment.
  • Document student progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to promote student success and independence in the school setting.
  • Participate in team meetings, Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and other school-related meetings as needed.
