Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced School Sign Language Interpreters for a full-time role with school districts in the Franklin, TN area. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are committed to facilitating clear communication and ensuring an inclusive classroom environment for hearing-impaired students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide real-time interpretation of spoken language into sign language and vice versa.
  • Adapt and modify instructional materials to suit the needs of hearing-impaired students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to enhance educational accessibility.
  • Assist students in both individual and group settings to promote effective learning experiences.
  • Keep detailed records of interpretation sessions and student progress.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance interpretation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in sign language interpretation (or equivalent experience) is required.
  • Prior experience in an educational setting serving hearing-impaired students is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of sensitivity, patience, and commitment to educational inclusivity.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
