Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:50 AM - 3:10 PM
Student Load: Approximately 40 students | PK (Pre-Kindergarten) - 1st Grade Location: Single building
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school community in River Forest, Illinois. As an SLP, you will have a crucial role in supporting the communication and language development of students in Pre-Kindergarten through 1st grade, ensuring their success in the educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language assessment, diagnosis, and therapy services to students with communication disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language goals.
- Conduct regular progress monitoring and adjust therapy plans to address student needs effectively.
- Provide speech and language support within the classroom setting and in small group or one-on-one sessions.
- Offer professional insights and recommendations to the IEP team.
Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly in PK-1st grade.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of speech and language assessment tools and techniques.
- Ability to adapt to individual student needs and provide effective therapy.
