Certified School Nurse (CSN)

Blazerworks, in partnership with a prominent school in Aurora, IL, is actively seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Certified School Nurse (CSN) for a full-time position starting in the fall of 2023. As a CSN, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive health services to students and promoting a safe and healthy learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care and health-related services to students, including assessments, treatments, and emergency interventions.
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate medication records in accordance with state regulations and school policies.
• Conduct health screenings, immunization compliance checks, and maintain student health records.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to promote health education and wellness programs.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate care until emergency medical services arrive.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding students' health concerns and provide health-related guidance and education.

Requirements:

• Valid certification as a School Nurse (CSN) in the state of Illinois.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong knowledge of pediatric healthcare practices, immunizations, and common childhood illnesses.
• Experience working in a school or pediatric healthcare setting is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
