Requirements:

  • Must meet all requirements set forth by local and state regulations for practicing as a School Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and growth.
  • Must pass background check and other pre-employment screenings.

Job Duties:

  1. Conduct assessments to determine students needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  2. Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, including but not limited to sensory integration, fine motor skills development, and activities of daily living.
  3. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement intervention strategies to support students academic and functional performance.
  4. Monitor and document students progress, adjusting intervention plans as necessary.
  5. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of goals and objectives for students with disabilities.
  6. Provide consultation and training to teachers, staff, and parents on strategies to support students needs in the classroom and at home.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, including progress notes, reports, and billing information.
  8. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in occupational therapy and special education.
  9. Participate in professional development activities and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
