School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) - Accomack County, VA - 2025-2026 School Year

Accomack County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide essential services to students across our division, while also providing crucial supervision to our existing Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs).

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to a caseload of approximately 20-25 students.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and write detailed evaluation reports.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care.
• Provide clinical supervision to two on-staff Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs).
• Perform Medicaid billing.
• Travel to various schools within the division for evaluations and services as needed (11 schools in total, with services primarily concentrated in a few locations).

Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia Occupational Therapist (OT) license and credentials.
• Experience supervising COTAs is required.
• Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy and school-based practices.
• Excellent evaluation and report writing skills.
• Proficiency in Medicaid billing procedures.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Schedule:

• Full-time: 37.5 hours per week.
• 2025-2026 School Year

Caseload:

• Supervision of approximately 90 students through COTA oversight.
• Direct service caseload of approximately 20-25 students.

Locations:

• Various schools within Accomack County Public Schools (11 schools in the division, with services primarily concentrated in a few locations).

Compensation:

• Hourly pay is $45-$60 per hour. The actual rate will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
