Full-Time School Registered Nurse (RN) Position in Aurora, IL

  • Provide direct nursing care and health services to students in accordance with state regulations, district policies, and professional standards
  • Conduct health assessments, screenings, and evaluations to identify students' health needs and develop appropriate care plans
  • Administer medication, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by healthcare providers and maintain accurate documentation of services provided
  • Monitor students with chronic health conditions, disabilities, or special needs and collaborate with families, school staff, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized health plans (IHPs) and emergency action plans (EAPs)
  • Respond to medical emergencies, injuries, and illnesses on campus and provide first aid, emergency care, and crisis intervention as needed
  • Educate students, families, and staff on health promotion, disease prevention, and safety practices to support a healthy school environment
  • Maintain accurate health records, immunization records, and health-related documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with school personnel, community agencies, and healthcare providers to coordinate services, referrals, and resources for students' healthcare needs
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, individualized education plan (IEP) meetings, and other collaborative forums to contribute to students' educational planning and support services


  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited program
  • Current Illinois state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Previous experience working as a school nurse or pediatric nurse preferred
  • Knowledge of pediatric nursing principles, health assessment techniques, and best practices in school health services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
  • Commitment to promoting health, safety, and wellness in the school community
  • CPR certification and other relevant certifications/licenses as required by state regulations
