Speech Language Pathologist - Elgin, IL

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Speech Language Pathologists for full-time positions within school districts located in the Elgin, IL area. We are seeking dedicated professionals who meet all local and state requirements to join our team and provide essential support to students with communication and swallowing disorders.

Requirements:

  • Valid Illinois Speech Language Pathologist license.
  • Master s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in Illinois.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based assessment and intervention practices for individuals with communication disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and support staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language delays.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in group settings to improve communication skills and functional communication abilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students communication needs in the classroom and throughout the school environment.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to develop goals and objectives for students with speech and language disorders.
  • Provide training and support to educators and parents on strategies to facilitate speech and language development and improve communication skills.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, progress notes, and intervention plans.
  • Stay current with best practices in the field of speech-language pathology through ongoing professional development opportunities.
