School Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

Blazer Jobs is actively seeking experienced Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) for a full-time position with school districts in the North Chicago, IL area. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing speech and language therapy to students.
- Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) under the supervision of an SLP.
- Conduct speech and language screenings as well as document student progress.
- Assist in preparing materials for therapy sessions and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student development.
- Maintain accurate records and progress notes.
Requirements:
- Must meet all Illinois state and local requirements for SLPAs, including:
- Hold an active Illinois SLPA license.
- Completion of an accredited SLPA program.
- Certification from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- Previous school-based experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with children.
- Ability to collaborate with other educational professionals and adhere to school policies.
