Blazer Jobs is seeking a skilled and experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time, school-based role in New Caney, TX. This position is ideal for professionals who have experience working with special education students and are passionate about supporting speech and language development. As an SLPA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to deliver effective therapy and support services to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Therapy Implementation: Carry out speech and language therapy sessions according to the individualized treatment plans designed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Direct Support: Provide individual and group therapy to students to address areas such as articulation, language comprehension, fluency, and expressive language skills.
- Data Collection: Accurately track and record student progress and behavior, and assist in adjusting therapy plans based on collected data and observations.
- Collaboration: Partner with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate speech and language goals into the educational environment and support overall student development.
- Assessment Assistance: Help the SLP with assessments and evaluations to determine the speech and language needs of students.
- Classroom Integration: Support students within the classroom setting to reinforce and apply speech and language skills in various contexts.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other necessary documentation to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Must hold a valid SLPA certification in accordance with Texas state regulations.
- Experience: Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of speech and language development principles and therapy techniques. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are crucial.
- Adaptability: Ability to adjust therapy approaches to meet the diverse needs of students and various classroom settings.
- Regulations: Must adhere to all local and state regulations related to SLPA duties and responsibilities.
