Braillist Contract Position in School Setting

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Braillists for a full-time, school-based role with districts in the Jefferson, GA area. We are looking for detail-oriented and compassionate professionals who are committed to supporting visually impaired students in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transcribe instructional materials into Braille, large print, or tactile graphics as needed.

  • Assist students with visual impairments in accessing classroom content and learning materials.

  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and vision specialists to implement IEPs.

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support during classroom instruction and activities.

  • Maintain and organize Braille materials and assistive technology devices.

  • Ensure compliance with district and state guidelines for accessibility and student support.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Braille transcription preferred.

  • Previous experience in a school setting or working with visually impaired students is strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in Unified English Braille (UEB).

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of an educational team.
