Paraprofessional – Full-Time (School-Based) | Kansas City, MO
Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced Paraprofessionals for a full-time, school-based contract role in Kansas City, MO. This is a fantastic opportunity for compassionate, dedicated individuals looking to support students and educators in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
We are seeking professionals who are passionate about education and skilled in working with students—particularly those receiving special education services. Renewal opportunities may be offered based on performance and district needs.
Location: Kansas City, Missouri area
Position Type: Full-time, contract
Setting: School-based
Start Date: Immediate or as coordinated with the district
To be considered, applicants must meet all local and state regulations, which may include:
High school diploma or GED (Associate degree or higher preferred)
Paraprofessional certificate or ability to obtain certification per Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) guidelines
Successful completion of a background check and fingerprint clearance
Experience working with children in an educational setting
Special education experience highly preferred
Ability to lift, move, or assist students as needed (as required by some assignments)
Typical duties of a school-based paraprofessional may include:
Supporting students with special needs in academic and behavioral settings
Assisting with instructional tasks under the direction of certified teachers
Providing 1:1 or small-group support to students with IEPs
Helping manage classroom behavior and routines
Supporting students with mobility, communication, or personal care needs (depending on assignment)
Documenting student progress and participating in team meetings as needed
Promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment
