Part Time Bus Support Paraprofessional Needs Near Columbine, CO

Job Title: Bus Route Paraprofessional (Non-Driver)
Location: Colorado
Pay Rate: $22 - $25 per hour
Hours: Approximately 25 hours per week
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM & 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM (Hours may vary slightly by route)
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: May 23, 2025

Job Description:

We are seeking dedicated and experienced paraprofessionals to assist on school bus routes. This is a non-driving role focused on providing support to students during transportation. The ideal candidate will have experience working in school settings, particularly with students with autism and behavioral needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist students during transportation to and from school.

• Provide behavioral and emotional support as needed.

• Ensure student safety and well-being while on the bus.

• Assist in emergency situations, including physically evacuating students if necessary.

• Communicate effectively with bus drivers, school staff, and parents when needed.

• Report to the Transportation Office before and after shifts.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of experience in a school setting.

• Experience working with students with autism and behavioral challenges preferred.

• Must pass a physical exam, including the ability to drag/pull a dummy off the bus in case of emergency.

• Must have reliable transportation.

• Must provide two professional references.

• Must pass fingerprinting and background check (any felony or misdemeanor will result in disqualification per district policy).
