Job Title: Paraeducator with ASL Background

Location: Louisiana
Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Start Date: ASAP – May 20, 2025

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Paraeducator with an ASL background to provide 1-on-1 support for a student in a regular curriculum setting. The primary role of this position is to interpret and facilitate communication for the student, ensuring their full participation in the learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1-on-1 interpretation for a student using American Sign Language (ASL)
• Support the student’s access to classroom instruction and activities
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to create an inclusive learning environment
• Assist in academic tasks and classroom engagement as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Associate’s Degree (preferred)
• Completion of the ParaPro Assessment or another State-approved test (minimum score: 456)
• Para Certification through the Louisiana Department of Education
• Strong ASL proficiency and experience in educational settings

Position Details:

• Onsite preference required
• Full-time schedule (40 hours per week)
• Immediate start through May 20, 2025
