Sign Language Interpreter On-site

Blazer Jobs is hiring a full-time Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students for the 2025–2026 school year. The interpreter will facilitate communication between students and educational staff by interpreting or transliterating spoken language. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Interpret/transliterate spoken communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students

• Support equal access to classroom instruction and school-related activities

• Follow daily directions from special education staff and the teacher of the deaf

• Report student performance or job-related concerns to the appropriate school personnel

• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student success

• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times

Qualifications:
To be considered for an interview, candidates must have:

• NC Licensure/Certification as an SLI

• EIPA score of 3.0 or higher

• Prior experience in a school setting preferred

• Strong ASL and English communication skills

• Familiarity with the educational needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students
