Applicants must meet all local and state regulations, including:
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education (e.g., Learning Disabilities, Cognitive Impairment, Emotional Impairment, Autism Spectrum Disorder, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
Prior experience in a special education setting (preferred)
Ability to pass a state and district background check and fingerprinting
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
Provide direct instruction in both inclusive and self-contained classroom settings
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure student success
Monitor and assess student progress; adjust instruction as needed
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school policies and legal requirements
Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and administrators regarding student progress
