Who are you?
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Must have ESA certification.
- OSPI fingerprints required.
- Valid WA Social Worker license required.
- 2+ years of supervised, post MSW social work experience as a school social worker in a school setting.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, mental health issues, and family dynamics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, parents, and community members.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in school social work.
What will you do?
- Offer individual and group counseling to students to address emotional, social, and behavioral challenges.
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and create effective intervention plans.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to establish supportive learning environments.
- Develop and implement programs promoting social and emotional learning.
- Advocate for students' needs and provide resources and referrals to external agencies when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop and review individualized education plans (IEPs) and other support plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and support when needed.
