Job Summary:
The Special Education Teacher will design and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring they have access to high-quality instruction and support. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including parents, teachers, and specialists, to provide a safe and engaging learning environment that promotes academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Provide differentiated instruction and interventions to support diverse learning styles.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to integrate students into inclusive settings.
- Maintain open communication with families to support student learning and well-being.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district policies related to special education services.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid Washington State teaching certificate with a Special Education endorsement.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
