BlazerJobs is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Self-Contained Paraprofessional to join a dynamic team in Enumclaw, WA. This role will provide support in a self-contained classroom environment for students with various disabilities, including but not limited to Autism, ADHD, and emotional or learning challenges.
As a Self-Contained Paraprofessional, you will work closely with a certified teacher to support students with special needs, ensuring they have a positive and inclusive learning experience. Your role will include assisting with classroom activities, reinforcing individual goals, and providing one-on-one support as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in delivering instructional support to students with special needs.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in a self-contained classroom.
- Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges through positive reinforcement and intervention techniques.
- Help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support students in reaching their goals.
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Communicate with teachers and other staff members regarding student progress and behavior.
- Provide physical assistance when necessary, including helping students with mobility or other personal care needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Paraprofessional certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Previous experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a self-contained setting.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and special education best practices.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with teachers, students, and families.
