Caseload/Job Details: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our team near Harper Woods, MI. As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities and ensuring their well-being and emotional development. This is a full-time position with a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of young learners.
Hours per week: Full time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM - 3:45 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to develop and implement student intervention plans.
- Assess and address the social and emotional needs of students to improve their overall well-being and academic performance.
- Advocate for the social and emotional needs of students and ensure they receive appropriate support services.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development and review of IEP goals.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to students when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
- Valid state licensure as a School Social Worker.
- Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate and effective support to students in a school setting.
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
