Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Worker to join our team in Lake Zurich, just a 20 minute drive from Buffalo Grove. This full-time position is for the 2024-2025 school year and involves working with elementary students in a self-contained program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with low incidence disabilities, including autism and cognitive impairments, as well as ADHD, specific learning disabilities, and emotional disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Provide individual and group counseling to students with a variety of disabilities, including autism, cognitive impairments, ADHD, specific learning disabilities, and emotional disabilities.
  • Case Management: Develop and implement individualized support plans for students, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention services as needed, helping students manage and resolve conflicts and emotional challenges.
  • IEP Participation: Actively participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development and adjustment of student plans.
  • Resource Connection: Connect students and families with community resources and services to support their needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, counseling sessions, and communications.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master s degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a Social Worker in the state of Illinois.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience working with low incidence disabilities (e.g., autism, cognitive impairments), ADHD, specific learning disabilities, and emotional disabilities.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment: A genuine commitment to supporting the development and success of students with special needs.
