Social Worker Role in School Setting

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced School Social Workers for a full-time role with school districts in the Ypsilanti, MI area. We are seeking dedicated individuals who are passionate about supporting the emotional and social well-being of students and enhancing their academic success within a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide counseling and support to students dealing with emotional, social, and behavioral challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement interventions that support student success.
• Assist in identifying students’ social and emotional needs and connecting them with appropriate community resources.
• Develop and implement programs to promote mental health and prevent issues such as bullying and social isolation.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of services provided and student progress.
• Serve as a liaison between school staff and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive support for students.

Qualifications:

• A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field.
• Licensure as a Social Worker (LCSW preferred) in the state of Michigan.
• Previous experience working with children and adolescents in an educational or community setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy, patience, and a commitment to supporting student well-being.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently manage a caseload.
