Job Description: The School-Based Special Education Teacher in Lafayette, AL will be responsible for designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student. The role involves close collaboration with students, parents, and other education professionals to ensure each student receives the necessary support for academic and social success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to the specific needs of each student.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in both individual and small group settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.
• Conduct assessments and adjust teaching strategies based on student progress.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to discussions on student needs and goals.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress, IEP goals, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid Alabama teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education.
• At least one year of experience in a Special Education setting.
• Thorough understanding of Alabama’s special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, families, and colleagues.
