Special Education Paraprofessional

BlazerJobs is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team in Houston, TX. As a Paraprofessional, you will provide vital support to students and teachers in a classroom environment, assisting with daily instructional activities, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a positive and productive learning experience for students. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and classroom management
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including those with special needs
• Help students with academic tasks, assignments, and projects
• Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and field trips
• Monitor student behavior and assist with behavior management strategies
• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom resources
• Support students with personal care needs, as necessary (e.g., toileting, feeding, mobility)
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Communicate regularly with teachers and parents regarding student progress and concerns

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred)
• Previous experience working with children in a classroom or educational setting is a plus
• Experience working with students with special needs is highly preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with students
• Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from teachers and administrators
• Ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe learning environment
