BlazerJobs is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team in Houston, TX. As a Paraprofessional, you will provide vital support to students and teachers in a classroom environment, assisting with daily instructional activities, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a positive and productive learning experience for students. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and classroom management
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, including those with special needs
- Help students with academic tasks, assignments, and projects
- Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and field trips
- Monitor student behavior and assist with behavior management strategies
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom resources
- Support students with personal care needs, as necessary (e.g., toileting, feeding, mobility)
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Communicate regularly with teachers and parents regarding student progress and concerns
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred)
- Previous experience working with children in a classroom or educational setting is a plus
- Experience working with students with special needs is highly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with students
- Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from teachers and administrators
- Ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe learning environment
