Job Description:
We are seeking two dedicated and qualified Special Education (SPED) Teachers to join our educational team for the 2024-2025 school year in Covington, GA. These are full-time, onsite positions with specific roles: one Resource Teacher and one Co-taught Teacher. The successful candidates will work with students who have diverse learning needs, providing individualized instruction and support to help them achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in a resource or co-taught classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' learning and behavioral needs.
  • Assess students' progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and communicate regularly with parents and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Current Georgia state certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
