Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of each student.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique learning challenges of students with disabilities.
• Provide direct instruction to students in a variety of settings, including small group or one-on-one environments.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and other staff members to promote inclusive education and student success.
• Monitor and assess student progress, making adjustments to IEPs and instructional strategies as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and involve them in the educational process.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing special education programs.

Qualifications:

• Must meet all state and local certification requirements to teach Special Education in Alabama.
• Previous experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
