Special Education Teacher - Albemarle, NC

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Special Education Teachers for full-time positions within school districts located in the Albemarle, NC area. We are seeking dedicated professionals who meet all local and state requirements to join our team and provide exceptional support to students with special needs.

Requirements:

  • Valid North Carolina teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
  • Bachelor s degree in Special Education or related field (Master s degree preferred).
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students unique needs.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess students academic, behavioral, and developmental needs to inform the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Develop and implement instructional strategies and interventions to support students academic progress and social-emotional development.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in individual and small group settings, adapting curriculum and materials as needed to meet individualized goals.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively in the classroom.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies and interventions as necessary to support student success.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, goals, and areas of concern.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, to review student progress and make instructional recommendations.
  • Stay current with best practices in special education through ongoing professional development opportunities.
