Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Special Education Teachers for a full-time role with school districts in the Morris Plains, NJ area. This is a wonderful opportunity to support students with diverse needs and make a meaningful impact in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs.
• Providing direct instruction in both group and one-on-one settings.
• Modifying curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate students with varying abilities.
• Collaborating with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
• Monitoring and assessing student progress toward IEP goals.
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Providing behavioral and academic support as needed to help students succeed.
• Maintaining accurate records of student progress, behavior, and IEP goals.

Qualifications

Required Education and Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field.
• NJ State Certification as a Special Education Teacher (or eligibility for certification).
• Applicants must meet all local and state requirements, including background checks, certifications, and other regulatory compliance.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience teaching students with disabilities or special needs is preferred.
• Knowledge of the IEP process, including writing and implementing IEPs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassion, patience, and the ability to engage and motivate students.
