Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• Certification: Must hold an active Connecticut Special Education Teaching Certification
• Experience: Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher is required
• Must meet all Connecticut state and local requirements to work in a school setting

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Adapt lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff
• Monitor and document student progress, making instructional adjustments as necessary
• Provide a structured and inclusive learning environment
• Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
