Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team in Wheatridge, CO. This full-time, on-site role involves working with students with disabilities, delivering tailored instructional programs, and ensuring that each student has the support they need to succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with various disabilities.
- Provide specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of each student in a classroom setting.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to create a supportive educational environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, making necessary adjustments to teaching strategies and interventions.
- Create and maintain an inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement and success.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to address and resolve educational and behavioral issues.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with students with disabilities and teaching at the middle or high school level.
- In-depth knowledge of special education practices, including IEP development and implementation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, staff, and families.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field is required; advanced degrees or additional certifications in special education are a plus.
- Ability to adapt to various instructional methods and technologies to meet student needs.
